DO NOT GET THIS SURGERY.
GET LAP BAND.
I HAVE NIPHS - DO A WEB SEARCH ON IT OR "POST BARIATRIC SURGERY HYPOGLYCEMIA" ALSO LOOK UP THE NEUROLOGICAL AFFECTS IT CAN HAVE ON YOU.
MY VITAMIN LEVELS ARE ALWAYS LOW EVEN THOUGH I TAKE CARE OF MYSELF AND EAT RIGHT.
I DON'T DRINK.
PLEASE DO NOT GET THIS SURGERY! LONG TERM POST OP WILL SCREW YOU UP FOR LIFE!
I am updating my page at the top this morning. It's been a long time.
I've had some really bad health issues due to having had gastric bypass surgery.
I was so happy with the way I looked but now if I could go back and change it I would.
I am severely hypoglycemic, anemic, and I have to take mega doses of vitamin d in addition to my regular bariatric vits.
I have horrible headaches every morning when I wake up.
I have no strength, can't open a jar, hard to open the car door - anything simple like that.
It's fucking up my career. (edit 2013 - I am NOW on Social Security disability)
My heart is constantly palpitating fast and hard.
It's fucking up my life. (Please excuse my language)
I can't breathe and I feel like I am going to black out or have a siezure. (edit 2013 - I now have siezures. My blood sugars have dropped as low as 28. I wake up in the middle of the night with hypoglycemic attacks and make my way to the kitchen in confusion to drink sugar - not really knowing what i am doing, but I know it will save me from a seizure or worse yet, a coma.)
I thought this, this almighty god given medical miracle was going to make me healthy and it is killing me.
DO NOT GET THIS SURGERY - IT DIDN'T scew ME OVER TILL TWO MONTHS AGO - IT WAS MARCH OF 2008 WHEN THE SHIT HIT THE FAN - I HAD THE SURGERY MAY OF 2005.
IT WILL MESS YOU UP.
EDIT -- It is now 2013, 3 days shy of July 1st. My health is declining. I totally regret having gastric bypass and wish I would have waited until my insurance was more comfortable with lapband. Please do not get gastric bypass, it will slowly kill you.
