The struggle is real...

Jan 15, 2017

Good morning,

I have a terrible sweet tooth. I have a horrible time with passing up sweets! My family love thier sweets as well. I worry that they will live unhealthy lifestyles, and carry unhealthy habits into thier adulthood.

I'm having a tough time with making healthy food choices this morning. Ughh... I woke up to finding danishes and muffins on the kitchen counter-top. My husband must of put that stuff out for our family last night.

My husband, son-in-law, and nephew can eat everything and anything that they want and not have to worry about gaining weight. My daughters on the other hand are putting on weight. My girls seem to take after me in that regard... unfortunately.

I am trying to my teach my family about good eating habits and portion sizes. At times I want my husband to help out more with that. Yet he enjoys providing our family with treats. (I use to enjoy that as well.) At other times I feel guilty because I'm minimizing thier food options. It's a daily struggle.

Emotional Eating...

Dec 03, 2016

Hi Everyone,

I've been having a difficult time today. I'm missing my little sister pretty fierce. She was murdered in November 2015. A stray bullet went into her apartment and took her life.

At moments like these in the past.. I would eat my feelings away. Carbs were my go to. Sweets were my main comfort food. I'm trying to stay away from carbs. I'm in my losing phase. Any suggestions?

Slowly making progress...

Nov 30, 2016

I feel that I'm making slow... but steady progress. My weight is coming off rather slowly right now. I have hit a couple of road bumps in my personal life. Perhaps that has something to do with the stall. Even so... I am looking forward to my weight loss journey. Becoming healthier is important to me, and to my family.

I don't seem to feel physical hunger pains anymore. That is wonderful!!! I feel like I'm having to make myself eat at times. That's a new one for me. Dealing with head-hunger is pretty tough! I have a terrible sweet tooth: therefore, I surely do miss my CARBS! On a slightly different note...  I actually feel thirsty from time to time. I'm still having a difficult time with getting all of my fluids in.

I've been trying out different types of fluids and food lately. I'd like to find something new to drink. Most food choices go down pretty well lately. That's a nice thing to be able to share. Meat can still be a challenge at times.

I had some Greek yogurt with blueberries for breakfast. I'm pleased to say that my tummy handled it just fine. I had summer sausage with cheese for lunch. I had a couple bites of chicken breast for dinner. I'm still drinking choc Premier protein shakes and flavored-water.

I am rather open-minded. I am more than happy to recieve any tips and/or advise that y'all would care to share. I've come to appreciate this forum. I'm hoping to interact with more people. Please add me to your friends list. Thanks

 Have a great day!!!!!

Nov 21, 2016

Hello Everyone,

Another late night post...

I had my VSG a month ago. I'm having a difficult time getting my fluids in. Does anyone have any tips?

I often times feel like I have a sour tummy. Perhaps.. acid reflux issues?

I love my VSG
