Hello everyone!

I am twenty-six years old and after a life long battle with my excess weight I have finally made the decision to proceed with weight loss surgery. In the past two years, my weight sky rocketed, after a nine year old relationship abruptly ended, I took refuge in comfort foods. In 2015, I finally broke out of that terrible cycle of emotional eating then dieting only to lose weight and gain it back. I started using portion control better and cutting out sugary foods out of my diet. To my dismay, it only caused minimal weight loss. You can imagine my dissapointment, I went to my OB-gyn which after a series of tests informed me that I had PCOS and my hormones were completely unbalanced. To make matters worse, this syndrome affects losing weight in a very negative way. Along with that diagnosis, my PCP later in the week explained to me that the rest of the ailments I was feeling were direct caused my obesity. Ever since high school, I suffered from back pain but as my weight gain continue, I developed chronic pain on my lower back, knees and ankles. A 25 year old woman with osteoarthritis. During two weeks, I went home from work and just cried my eyes out. I was well aware that my excess weight was due to having a very poor diet for years but I couldnt help to feel defeated and fed up with my situation, now that I was actually making positive change. Finally one morning, I woke up and decided I wasnt going to let my obesity deteriorate every aspect of my life and I started researching methods of losing weight while suffering from PCOS. That was seven months ago, today I will be heading to my first WLS seminar and hopefully start the proccess of getting VSG surgery. I really hope to grow a support group here, lend my support to others as we navigate to the proccess of losing weight ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!!!!!
