No more CPAP! I went to the sleep dr. today and he said I was free of sleep apnea! Yippee! My husband thanks him, my family thanks him...LOL No more snoring! I don't take naps during the day, my fog has lifted. Thank you God for this surgery. I am feeling so good. I barely feel like I have even had the surgery. I exercise every day. Kinda getting a routine going. My 17 year old son is now working out with me at the gym. He is wanting to go into the Air Force when he graduates next year. He needs to lose 15 lbs to be within the weight guidelines. I know he will do it! I am so proud of him. My oldest son is joining the Navy this summer. I know he will do well. We are a military family and now my two sons are joining. My daughter now works as a dispatcher for the humane society. She absolutely loves animals. Some day she would like to enroll at Moorpark school in California. I hope she will be able to realize her dream. I love my kids so much.

Saw Dr. Weber today at my 4 month checkup. My labs look good but my cholesterol is still a tiny bit high. But it has definitely gone down. I have to take Zorcor and see if that works. I lost 27 of the 30 lbs he wanted me to lose at this visit! I feel very happy about that! He said I am right on schedule and wants me to lose 25 more by May 16th. I will see what I can do! Saw my surgery buddy Tracy at the appointment today. She has lost an astounding 72 lbs! Great Job Tracy! kiss kiss
She is unfortunately moving to Texas next month. I will miss seeing her but will keep in touch by email. I wish you and your family all the best Tracy.

Tomorrow is my 4 month checkup with Dr. Weber. I have had my labs drawn and I am very curious to see how they have come out. I am feeling so good. I don't feel like a freak anymore! I am at 195 lbs with 55 or more to lose. I am in 1x's and today wearing 18/20 pants. It is amazing to put clothes on that you haven't worn in ages. People are starting to notice my weight loss. That is encouraging! My hubby always makes nice comments. He is a sweetie.

I went to my first support meeting last night at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. I picked up Dawn who I had met online and we went together. I was very happy to finally meet her! She will be having surgery with Dr. Weber in the near future! I can't wait! The meeting went well. The speaker did not show up but in walked the Vitalady and her husband from Puyallup! I have looked over their website for a few years and was happy to meet them in person. I can't wait to go to future meetings.

Happy New Year everyone! I know this is going to be a very good year! I am finally at the point where I can eat meat without acking! I love chicken and have been having it the last few days. I also do not feel nauseated when I eat. I have gotten it down to eat very slowly and not upset my pouch. I still haven't gotten to the point where I enjoy my food even though my eyes enjoy it but when I actually get it to my mouth it is like...ho hum.. But! I DID enjoy a couple bites of Carb Countdown Butter Pecan ice cream! Wow! My tongue did a little happy dance. I have been eating mostly protein things and my taste buds are bored. I am just happy now that I can kinda eat normal things with my family not just oatmeal, cheese, eggs and such. Preops, things do get better! I keep experimenting on things that I can eat now. Adding veggies and different kinds of protein.

Today was my 7 week postop appointment with Dr. Weber. So far everything is great. No problems. I am down to 218 lbs. He wants me to lose another 30 lbs in 2 months. Okie dokie! I may have to go nekkid since I will have no clothes if I lose another 30 lbs. haha
I will be going to have my blood work done before I come back in 2 months. My surgery sister Tracy and I decided to make our appointments together the same day so that we can visit each time. I saw her today. She looks wonderful! I was very happy to see her since our surgery Nov. 7th. I was able to meet her husband and her two beautiful kids. My daughter Lisa went to the appointment with me today. It is a long drive and I love the company. I am eating very safe foods still. I get queasy with some foods. Meat is not my friend so I choose other protein choices. It is pretty boring actually but it makes my pouchy smile and not grumble. I hope everyone had a very nice Christmas and has a very Happy New Year!!

Three weeks post op and I have lost 20 lbs. Doing great! No problems whatsoever. I can tell a major difference already in my appearance. I have lost a total of 44 lbs since my journey started. I took a long hot bubble bath last night and found it is already easier to get out of the bath tub! haha
A lot of women ask questions about their periods being lighter, heavier, cramping etc. after they have lost weight. I have copied something from another poster that explained things well. Shifting hormones.
Here is how it was explained to me by my GYN. Fat cells are little hormone factories. Over weight women tend to have higher estrogen levels because of the excess fat. As you lose weight the fat cells stop producing as much estrogen, causing your estrogen levels to drop. The higher estrogen levels may have prevented ovulation, causing light to no periods. For those of us who are 40 ish we may have started perimenopause or the time preceeding menopause where your hormones naturally drop and often have very heavy and more frequent periods.

I am all better now since my last food episode. haha
My 1st post op appointment with Dr. Weber was yesterday. My husband took off and took me to Seattle. It is either a long drive around or take the Ferry. Dr. Weber took the staples out, everything looked good. Lost 13 lbs. so far. My next appointment is Dec. 27th. I am finally in a routine with my food, drinks and vitamins. I am no longer in that "panic" mode on what to do. My tummy is still a little sore and tender. But each day is getting better and better and better!

Stupid me! Yuck. I ate way too much last night and too fast.....sick for HOURS! I walked the house all night last night. Puked EVERYTHING up. Sat and cried in my chair....tired and weak today. Drinking a protein drink right now. Everything else makes me want to hurl. Sigh...
