Hi all I had open roen y gastric bypass in August 2002. My journey was rapid in the beginning. I had an allergic reaction to the neomycin and caused swollen red joints with blisters. So my hospital stay was a week... After that my weighr loss was rapid. I went from 370 to 142 in about 1 1/2 years. I was too small then so I had to add things to bring my weight up to 160. At that weight i was in a size 8-10 depending on the make. About 6 months after the surgery I was hospitalized with inflammed small intestine. I have had bowel ileus to form a couple of times but have resolved on their own thankfully. I was a bad girl and did not take the vitamin at first which caused problems but now I would not miss it ever. Have had B 12 anemia, Iron anemia and no matter what I eat the diarrhea seems to be here to stay. Now in last year i had to have a total thyroidectomy due to multiple goiters so now im hypothyroid. They are still trying to adjust my medication but caused weight gain up to 186. So thats my story, any helpful ideas to get the 25 pound off would be so helpful. And yes I would do it again despite eveything.
