"Dr. Byars is an unattentive and careless Dr. in my experience. This Dr. was the weekend attending physician during my Grandfather's hospitalization recently. He seemed annoyed and too busy to answer questions or to order tests to get to the root of the problem. My 85 yo grandfather was hospitized and had emergency surgery on his bowel for an obstruction. The surgeon who performed the procedure, Dr. Therrien (Byar's partner), was satisfactory but when Dr. Byars was the weekend attending physician when Dr. Therrien had time off, my loved one nearly died. Dr. Byars didn't put much, if any, effort into my loved one's complaints of stomach pain or his condition. He changed his diet from clear liquid to real food- fried chicken- during the period of complaints and EXTREME PAIN. On Monday, after the weekend of NEGLECT AND HELL, 4 liters of brown stomach sludge (poop) were taken out of my grandad's stomach thru a nose tube to the stomach. His bowel was not working all weekend and the Dr. wouldn't look into it before it got so terrible. He's so blessed to be alive now! I would never want this Dr. caring for me or my loved ones again. We plan on travelling an extra hour to another better hospital in Memphis rather than go to Baptist in Oxford for emergencies in the future. "
