"I am SO mad at myself for choosing this surgeon. I thought I was having the vertical sleeve surgery but the only thing Dr. Lane did for me was remove a hiatal hernia and do a Nissan Fundoplication. I found out that he only removed a small portion of my stomach (40-50%) and I lost about 60 pounds on my own. I had to drink the premier protein shakes 2 weeks pre-op and I lost 17 pounds on my own with that. I have constant diarrhea and I am really devastated that I put my life in Dr. Lane's hands only to find out that he beat around my insurance company because they would not pay for any weight loss surgery and this is what I got. I told friends that I had the gastric sleeve surgery and now they all look at me like I had surgery and never lost all of my weight and they see me struggle. How embarrassing to see other people I know have the VSG and are skinny! I feel so embarrassed that I told anyone I was having the surgery! I am very upset and will be having a REAL VSG SOON! "
