My name is Melanie, I'm from OHIO.  Welcome to my profile.  :)  This is my first time posting my story here.  I'm married to the love of my life, Wilson.  He treats me like a princess, even at my worst and I'm lucky to have such a wonderful partner in life.  I'm a juggalette and Psychpathic is just in my soul.

I've struggled with my weight since I was in elementary school.  It wasn't easy having all the kids make fun of me, and call me names.  As I entered high school, it became a bit easier I guess and I dealt with being a little chunky.  I was fine with it.  So then, and after I graduated, I stayed at a pretty steady weight that I guess I could say I was comfortable with (220-230 pounds).

Right before I got married in 2005, I began to slump down into a bad depression.  It was hard and I developed some serious health conditions.  I was so confused as to why I was feeling this way, and it scared me.  I put on nearly 150 pounds in less than 2 years.  I skyrocketed up to my highest weight of 362 pounds in 2006 before I stopped weighing myself.  I found myself secluding myself and shutting myself out from all of my friends and even my family.  I didn't even wanna wake up most days.  I just wasn't myself, and everyone knew it. I'm also a huge rollercoaster fan and when I realized I was too heavy to go to Cedar Point, it broke my heart.

I researched and read and researched some more about gastric bypass surgery, and finally made a decision that would change my life forever.  A decision that put me back in the right direction, and on a new path back to life.  I had my laparoscopic roux-en-y gastric bypass surgery on 2-20-07.

This truly was my second chance at life.  I thank God every day for it.  I'm happy again, I'm healthier than I've ever been, and it's completely changed my life back around to the direction it's supposed to be going.  It truly is a miracle what can happen everyday.  A blessing.  I hope now to continue this journey for the rest of my life.  I'm willing to work hard and give it all I've got.
