5 days to surgery

Dec 21, 2018

Well here I sit, 5 days to surgery. The pre-surgery diet is going much better at this point. I am down 15 lbs and counting the days to surgery. I feel very anxious about the surgery. I have been starting to wonder if I should really go through with it. I have heard from many people that the pain afterword is really bad so that doesn't help. The posibility of complications as well. I know these are probably normal thoughts, but still real anyway. I guess I will see.

On a side note, during the Christmas Holiday's is an extremely difficult time to do your pre-surgery diet. I mean everywhere you turn there is food. At work, holiday parties, Family events. Keep this in ming if you don't feel you are strong enough to resist the temptation of have all that food around you.

Pre-Surgery Diet Day 2.

Dec 12, 2018

Well day two was in the books. I followed the diet to a T but definately had my week moments.I was ready to give up as we had a funeral right after work and couldn't eat until 8 oclock in the evening. This proved to be a big mistake as going that long without food or protein really played a role in the hunger. I realize that these things my happen in the future but I am going to try to avoid these types of situations at all costs to stick to a strict schedule as much as possible. This is probably why I am as fat as I am today anyway.

As far as feelings go, I felt HUNGRY, again not during the day as much but mostly at home. I know that home is my weakness, this is where most of my daily calories were consumed before. however; I am aiming to make this change to not sit around and just eat when at home.

I also felt very tired and had a terrible headache, which I assume was from the caffeine withdraw. I had given up soda back in august but still drank coffee in the mornings until the day before the pre-surgery diet. I know that it will take a few days for that to go away so I am not bothered about it. I suffer from migraines so I am used to small headaches like this.

In the end the day was very successful, except for sticking to the schedule due to unforseen circumstances. I stuck to the diet and thanks to help from my wife didn't make any bad choices. I am now 15 days away from surgery and feeling a little better about the pre-surgery diet and the lifestyle changes I am making.

Pre-Surgery Diet Begins

Dec 12, 2018

On Monday 12/10/2018 I started my pre-surgery diet. This consists of 3 protein shakes (Using ISO 100) and a frozen meal with 1 cup of vegitibles. This is equalling out to about 700 or so calories a day. This is a huge drop in caloric intake as I have been geting around 1600-2000 per day. This is really my fault because I should have been on a 1400 calorie diet, but kept saying tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow.

Well on day 1 I ended up saying tomorrow again. I stuck to the diet mostly, but snuck a few peices of chocolate. I felt terrible afterwords but can't dwell on the past. On day 1 I felt like absolute garbage. I felt light headded all day and extremely hungry, well not so much in the day, but after work when I got home. I ate my crappy meal and still wanted more. I had the few peices of chocolate and then went to bed. Day one was a failure / success day for me as I mostly followed the diet but still cheated.
