For as long as I can remember I have always struggled with my weight but I guess it really started when I was about 13. I remember over one summer I gained around 30 lbs. By the time I was 16, I was over 200lbs and miserable. I have invested so much time and money over the past 10 years in weightloss books, pills and equipment trying to get the weight off and keep it off. The year I turned 21 was when I realized how great diet pills could be and lost from about 200 lbs down to about 160 in a matter of 4 months maybe, taking Xenodine. After that I was hooked and had to be because when I would stopped taking them I gained the 40 lbs back plus 20 in less time then it took me to lose the weight. By the time I was 22, I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure so over the counter diet pills were no longer an option since they only made my BP worse. I had gotten married to my first husband when I was 20 and by the time I was 23 we had decided we were ready to start a family. Having had no luck on our own I sought infertility only to be diagnosed with PCOS and the wonderful Dr who diagnosed me sent me home with the suggestion to research it on my own to better understand the disorder or disease. (Even today I'm not sure which it would classify as) In 2005, 2 months after my 24th birthday I was referred to Gastro at Portsmouth because of unexplainable elevated LFTS. After many tests and finally a biopsy I was diagnosed with NASH (NonAlcoholic SteatoHepatitis) and the biopsy showed fibrosis already started in my liver. I recently switched to Tricare Standard and found an awesome Dr who is finally taking my health seriously. Hopefully things go smooth and I get my approval for surgery.
