I am 73 years old and have been struggling with my weight for over 40 years. I have lost over 100 lbs 3 times and gained all of it back again each time. I have 10 brothers and sisters and 5 of us are obese. My grandmother and an aunt and an uncle were also obese. I have never been open to having surgery but at this point I am tired of the struggle and know I can no longer rely on my ability to make this happen. The decision feels like a good one and I am excited to get started. I met with my surgeon and she assured me that I am a good candidate for VSG surgery. I am scheduled for an immersion day next week.
