I am a twelve year post op RNY lady that has gained some of it back. I started on my journey at 450lbs. I went through all the diets that most people do, tried all the fads and ultimately failed them all. The tipping point that got me started to research gastric bypass surgery...well that's quite a story. At the time I was a case managers for the state and had to do transporting among many other things. However, my car at the time was small and the air conditioning had died. It's the middle of summer in Florida and I was dying from the heat! So, I went to the local dealership and thought I would purchase a new car, similar to the one I had, which was a chevy corsica 4 door. Well, there was only one corsica left on the lot and it was a 2 door. I thought that would be fine so I got in, the salesman got in the passenger side and as I tried to pull on the searbelt, I realized that it would not go all the way around me and I couldn't buckle it in. The salesman was so kind and said that maybe the seatbelt was stuck. I busted out crying and told him to leave me alone for a moment while I composed myself. That day I purchased a Chevy Monte Carlo (big boat of a car) and left the lot angry at myself.

Fast forward 13 years and now I'm sitting at 260lbs, about 60 more than I'd like. My lowest weight post-op was 187. Though I was not suffering from malnutrition, I didn't feel right. I purposely gained about 10lbs and hovered between 195 and 200 pounds for the longest time. I felt great in that range! So now, with a sedentary job and probably a bit of boredom, I have krept up. BUT, that is going to end and I have a goal of losing 60lbs, getting back to that feel good weight that I was at a while ago! I'm starting with the keto diet, but looks like that might have to be modified a bit...wish me luck!!
