15 Week Post Op Update (HELLO ONEDERLAND!!!!!!!!)

Mar 10, 2017

https://youtu.be/HiaZrhGAwwM

My 15-week post op update video is up! :)

I haven't updated in quite awhile. I have been really busy lately. I upped my workout days from 3-4  to 5 minimum but 6 days usually. So that keeps me quite busy along with running the household, appts etc. It is nice to stay busy, though.

The last thirty days I have been kinda stuck between 200 and 203. I just kept going up and down. I did start doing a cardio/weights class at the gym three weeks ago so I was not sure if that was part of why I was going up and down so much. However, yesterday at my 4-month post op appt I was FINALLY at 199!!! I am excited to finally see a 1 instead of a 2 but I will be glad when I am closer to 190 so it isn't so easy to tip right back over into 200 lol.

In the past month, I have noticed feeling my tailbone which is a new sensation lol. It hurts to sit too long at times. So weird. I also sold all of my old clothes and made a new friend while doing so. She is thinking about having the surgery as well so I enjoy giving her insight and helping her where I can.

In turn, I have had to buy new clothes. I haven't gone crazy with clothes buying but now I can fit in a size 16 pants and a size 1 or 2 shirt at Torrid depending how it is made. I also got to go down in Bra sizes (just the band not the cup thank goodness haha). I am now wearing bras with 3 hooks instead of 5 hooks. I love it!

So far I have lost 35 inches off my body since surgery. I do my measurements early next week so I may update with my measurements at that time.

Anyway...here are some new photos from the past month:

THREE lbs away from Onederland!

Feb 16, 2017

Here is a new youtube video I posted a couple of days ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krD2jKOw2Cs&t

I just realized in the last couple of days I have officially had my elliptical for a year now. I have used it every other day for a whole year (other than when I was on a vacation or 6 weeks post surgery)!

I always wanted an elliptical at home and I was so excited to be able to get one last year. Not once have I turned it into a clothes rack!! What a huge non-scale victory hahaha!!!

Now I am trying to change my exercises up more. I do the elliptical a lot still, as well as dumbells and such at home, but I also go walking once or twice a week and hopefully will start some classes soon at a local gym. I was supposed to go today but Ellie was sick last night and this morning.

I bought some size 18 pants a couple months ago because my 24’s were getting way too big. I thought I would be able to wear the 18's sometime later this month, but to my surprise, they fit in early January. I was shocked. I really didn’t think they would fit me already. SO I’ve been wearing them about a month now.

Well, Torrid had a sale last week and I purchased a size 16 to wear this April/March timeframe. Last night I opened the bag and decided why not, let’s try ‘em on. OMG …they were a tad snug but they fit me. I have not worn a size 16 since high school, or even a size 18 for that matter so I am just beside myself in all of this. I am not sure I will wear them right now just because the 18's fit too. But I probably wore them for 5 minutes around the bedroom in shock. haha

I am really happy with my success and how well I have done so far. I have not had one regret about the surgery and hopefully, I never will. I am so thankful for it and New Life Center for Bariatric Surgery! What is even awesome-r is I am not done!!! ;D

Below are some updated photos of me and my journey:

11 Week Post Op Update and Measurements

Feb 04, 2017

Hey everyone! It's been a couple weeks since I updated.

I have a new video on youtube (well it's a week or so old) where I talk about hair loss as well as a meet up with local WLS youtubers. We had a lot of fun and it was so awesome to get to meet others who know "The Struggle" ;D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sViIfLcJfE

My hair started falling out at 2 months post op. It seems like most people have lost hair starting around 3 months so hopefully mine is just starting a tad bit earlier and will be over faster! I really hope this doesn't last long. I think when I had all three of our babies the hair loss lasted a couple of months. I wash my hair every other day but quite a lot comes out on my hair washing days.

I have also been working out quite a lot lately! I have five days a week for the last two weeks. It feels awesome. I have been doing the elliptical and also walking on a walking track nearby.

Right now I am at 206.4 lbs which is so awesome. I am hoping to be under 200 by the middle of February.

Here are my measurements and weight lost for the month of January:

I feel like there is more to update on but I just can't remember it all!! The weight loss has definitely slowed down some but I am trying not to worry about it very much. Especially after I have lost so much already.

Here are some photos of the last couple weeks :)

A very exciting day! First salad post op!

Jan 10, 2017

So I start phase 3 of my bariatric diet plan on Thursday 01-12-17. On that day, I can add in non-starchy vegetables in my diet along with ground beef.

I actually went to Wal-Mart this morning and picked up salad stuff. I decided to go ahead and try a salad two days early because at the end of the week we are taking my husband's papaw out to eat with the kids and I wanted to make sure that salad wasn't going to not agree with me and end up being in the bathroom while everyone else ate.

I cannot tell you how excited I was to eat this salad. LOL. Like, I am sure my husband got tired of hearing me say how happy I was and how good it was. I measured out everything of course and it wasn't that bad for the amount I ate.

AND I am happy to report I had no issues at all eating it! So thankful <3

I am definitely a veggie lover and it was pretty hard to go almost 2.5 months without eating them. I've been craving salads like crazy. So today was a very happy day for me hehe :)

Out of my first stall! Yay!

Jan 08, 2017

I had been in a stall for about a week and a half I think. I was stuck at 217.8. I know stalls are normal and so I didn't worry about it too much. Plus it was that time of the month so I figured that was another reason I was possibly holding onto some weight.

Anyway, I weighed myself yesterday and I am 4 lbs down :D woot!

I also took a full body shot last Thursday. I had to pull my shirt tight because it was too loose to really tell anything. I can definitely tell I am losing the weight.

I am so excited that I am 13 lbs away from Onederland! Also, yesterday when I showered I was almost able to put the towel around myself the whole way lol.

I am feeling pretty good. I started working out and doing some strength training as well which isn't something I have ever really done much of before. It's really nice to be back in my workout routine.

First day of working out post surgery

Jan 02, 2017

Having to re-create this blog post again as it was written over by something I tried posting today (01-08-16). I originally posted this six days ago! ugh:

We "de-Christmased" the house last Friday! I was pretty excited I love Christmas but I am honestly pretty happy when the holidays are over with. I get my home back to the way it was lol. We had to move the elliptical into our bedroom to make room for the tree.

When I work out, I have to get up at 5 or 6 am to do it usually. We have three kids and I do not do well working out with distractions. I really like to focus on what I am doing. My husband would not have liked me jumping on the elliptical next to the bed at 5 am or so while he is trying to sleep haha!

About 2 weeks ago I was cleared for working out post surgery but I had not started yet. It felt SO GREAT to get back at it this morning even though I am already ready for a nap LOL!! I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night though so that doesn't help a bit.

So I decided to do about 35 minutes on the elliptical this morning and then I spent about 20 minutes doing the strength training exercises that my bariatric office gave me. They are very basic strength training exercises so I will probably get comfortable doing them for the first few weeks and then move to something else probably.

My new and cute bariatric Plusheez pillow

Dec 31, 2016

I actually ordered this pillow at the first part of November but they are handmade so they take awhile to get. The seller was really great at answering my questions and responding promptly to me :) I named it "Pouchy" and it has my surgery date on it!

Anyway, these are awesome to get if you know your surgery date well in advance you could bring it to the hospital with you and hold it against you etc when you needed to cough and such. I love it and I think it is so cute!

This is where I ordered it from:
