William Graber

"I met with Dr. Graber on 12/3/02. He was business like but not "stuffy". I liked his honesty in telling his personal experience in this surgery. He encourages research into WLS and any questions regarding the procedure. While I was speaking with his nurse he came right in to join in the conversation. He was specfic about the complications of the surgery as they relate to my specific situation. He was also specific in what I could expect as an outcome of this procedure. I guess I expected a more complete examination. In retrospect I have to admit that you do see other MDs (like a pulmonologist and a cardiologist) prior to surgery so he really doesn't have to do more in the office. The office nurse was very helpful and encouraged me tocall with questions or concerns. She even invited family to do so. While I was in the office, the doctor's first patient was there and I had a chance to speak with her. It was great to meet someone who had had this done. In addition I was given a phone number of someone else to speak to. I liked the fact that I could meet the surgeon right away. Another office I contacted has you meet with a nurse, a medical MD, dietician, physical therapist, and then you get to meet the surgeon. I want to meet him to know if this is who I wish to have do the surgery. Dr. Graber has not been doing GBS for a year yet but he has a long history of laproscopic experience. This weighs very heavy with me. (No pun intended!) "
