Frances, OF course you can celebrate...you have done an awesome job in such a short time! That nurse does not have a clue of how much you have changed and how much easier life is for you. Each of us have our own goals and dreams after surgery. Do not allow the judgement of another person rain on your parade. KimmieTN

I'm now 3 months and 1 week post op. I have lost a total of 78 pounds! I'm excited about the loss, but was a little sad that I had only lost 14 pounds this month. The doctor reminded me that I had never exercised and now I was walking, riding my bike and doing floor exercises, so I was gaining muscle as I was loosing fat. My husband will have his open RNY in only 13 days.

Hello everyone! This is Frances and now I'm proud to say that I'm a post-op (open RNY) of 6 days!!! I had my surgery on Wednesday, the 23rd. When I had my swallow test, it showed no leaks but the contrast took way too long to drain from the esophagus into the new pouch. As a result, I was kept NPO until Saturday and didn't get out of the hospital until Sunday afternoon. Everyday I have feel better. My main complaint is pain at the site of my g-tube. I had to have it as a route for medication for a lifetime disease. I'm walked 6 different times for 5 to 10 minutes yesterday and today. And I'm proud to say that I got in over 64 ounces of water yesterday. I can't wait to be able to sleep in the bed than the recliner. I said the most surprising thing yesterday that I can't wait to go to the doctor tomorrow and get weighted!! I don't think I have ever said that before. Will post results tomorrow, especially if the loss it good! Later.
