"Dr. Bryars does not believe in weight loss procedures other than good nutrition and excercise. I am over 100 pounds overweight, and he has been my PCP for years. He has seen my battle with my weight and my failures, and when i asked him for a referral to see a surgeon, he said no! That because i was young (25 yrs old) and only 100 pounds overweight; that it should be extremely easy to lose. He also prescribed Celexa and Prozac to me, he said that he was declaring me clinically depressed and i should be seeing a psychologist instead of a surgeon. That if i "cured" my depression i could lose the weight. I couldn't believe him. I have been battling my weight for almost 13 years, i have only recently become depressed. It is called Post partum depression!!!
I am a very single mother....
I would suggest that anyone in the Mobile, Al. area think twice before seeing Dr. Bryars for anything..
