Cathy Reto

"While my PCP did give me the needed prescription for psychological evaluation, he did not include a referral. I spoke to a couple of Psychologists from the yellow pages and they were either uninformed about the surgery or did not have available time until after the first of the year. Wanting to wrap this phase of requirements up before the holidays I called the WLS center I've chosen and they gave me a referral to Cathy Reto. She has extensive experience dealing with people who want this surgery and she was a positive supporter of my decision. I was curious about why this kind of evaluation would be necessary and whether her evaluation had ever prevented someone from having the surgery. She told me of a woman who had come to her after losing her boyfriend. She wanted the surgery simply to try and get him back. Suddenly it became clear what Cathy was making sure we were doing this for the right reasons. Reasons that would set us up for long term positive results. Good answer. "

"While I had a prescription from my PCP,he didn't really have a Nutritionist to refer me to. I went to the internet and called one that was close to my work location. Luckily, Diane had done evaluations for other WLS applicants when she lived in the Midwest and had worked with a Bariatric Surgeon helping many of his patients. She knew all the ups and downs of post-operative nutrition. She also had data on some of the supplements I am currently taking that helped me make some more informed decisions in that area. I would recommend her to anyone. "
