Dear Michelle~~~CONGRATULATIONS!!! on your uneventful surgery and now on to that complete recovery. I think that it is a great idea to consider Bariatric Nursing as a career choice. Certainly, your experience would greatly benefit your patients and, in return, you as well. May God continue to watch over you. Let us know how you do. Be well, be happy, be blessed.

Hi all, remeber me????!!! I am doing so much better!!! I am finally able to get comfortable (somewhat), can move & bend so much better, and do not feel so "down". I actually feel very "up"!!! LOL!! I am trying to catch up on my postings & updates...so slow... Thanks so much to everyone who kept me in their thoughts & prayers during surgery, Dr. G said I did "excellent" & I have had no problems so far other than just recuperating from surgery... Everything I place in my mouth goes down well, no nausea, or vomiting, or gastric pain during eating. I had surgery Tues, May 7, and was released from the hospital Fri, May 10. No complications other than I lost about twice the amount of blood usually lost during the surgery. No need for a transfusion, though! My follow-up appt. with Dr. G was yesterday, Thurs, May 16. He poked his head in & said, "you're smiling & laughing." I said "of course, I always try to smile & laugh, & besides, everything has been going well" SSOOOOO... DRUMROLL, please.... Down 16.5 pounds!!! AAAGHHH!!! That's enough to make me say, "I feel good...." I do so hope that things continue to go this smoothly.... I am certainly one to sing praises as I was in Dr. G's waiting room yesterday talkng away, showing my incision (which is steri-stripped only & beautiful...no draining, some old bruising), etc... If any of you remember I am graduating from Nursing school in December & am really starting to think about specializing in Bariatrics if it is available. What a wealth of knowledge to be a nurse who has first-hand experience & can provide not only quality care but empathy as well!!!! Her Angel here - Well, I just spoke to Michelle and other than being a little dopey (literally) :) she is doing extremely well. She may even get to go home a day earlier than expected. She is my bestest friend in the world (we have known each other since we were about 14/15) I have known her over half our lives and I wish the very best for her in the step in her life. I hope she gets everything and more she wants from this! I LOVE YOU SHELLY!!!! Cristina
