Hi Jenele, I'm from Emmetsburg I'm going to Mayo to for WLS. I just got started in Feb.'03. I've had my first consult with the surgeon last week,not the same as your, but she kind of put me on the defensive too. I have another one with her on 4/17/03. Good news/bad news. I said before that I had a personlity conflict with Dr. Sarr at our first meeting. Well that meeting must have been with his evil twin, because since then I've had a phone consult and another office visit and I loved him. Shows how wrong first impressions can be.I get the feeling now that he would go to the ends of the earth for me.He was very pleased with the 55 pounds I've dieted off so far. He said it would make the operation easier on him as well as me. I am having some glitches with insurance now. First they approved it , then they didn't, then there was no record of approval anywhere. It is driving me nuts ! Supposedly it is straightened out now. The gal at Mayo's insurance approval office has geen most helpful, but Blue Cross is giving me the run around. All this is creating a lot of stress I really don't need right now. I just want it to hurry up and all be over with.

Jenele, I had my surgery done at St. Mary's as well. Who is your surgeon? The hospital is great. I had a positive experience with all of the nurses and everyone that came in to help me. If I can be of any help to you, please feel free to email me. Good luck!
