Nauveed Iqbal

"3/4/04 I met today with Dr. Iqbal for the first time. He is very friendly and easy going, and seems to be very knowledgable about the procedure. He answered all my questions plus a few I didn't think to ask. He says he's done over 1400 operations which is plenty of experience for me! He does emphasize follow up care and has a support group which he insists you attend. I like him a lot! Now, the office is small and the waiting room is not so hot, especially for big people. They were so busy no one even spoke to me for an hour. But hey, docs' offices get that way. Overall, I'd say I was very happy with HIM, and he's the important factor. 2/24/05 I saw Dr. Iqbal today to get my surgery date and info on pre-op testing. He's a good guy, easy going, well informed, eager to share info and take questions. Talks a little fast until you slow him down though. ;-) Despite the inevitable office delays, the staff was very helpful and I think I'm quite ready to go into this thing! 4/29/05 This week, Dr. Iqbal inserted my vena cava filter and (against my vehement objections under sedation) did my endoscopy. He is a pleasure to work with, answers every question and addresses every concern. 5/4/05 Just had my final visit with Dr. Iqbal prior to surgery. He's great! Answered every question and always a pleasure to deal with!"

Marcy Rabinowitz

"Marcy was helpful in trying to get me through my traditional weight loss program, while supporting me in my decision to have the surgery. She's very pleasant to work with. My main concern is her "carb-centered food pyramid" approach to dieting. I know that my post-op diet will center around protein, but she didn't seem to think that the ratio would be affected very much. Fortunately, I'm well informed. :-) Marcy has a mobile office -- she comes to you, which is very handy."

SJH Regional Medical Center

"The SJHRMC is a great new facility. I found during my pre-op tests that some of that equipment is not designed for super obese patients, but during my surgery stay everything was great! I got a "big boy bed" with plenty of room. I stayed in the surgical ICU as a precaution due to my weight. The nursing staff was excellent and very responsive to my needs. Most of them had either had the surgery or had friends who had. They were always checking on my pain and discomfort (which was minimal) and were eager to take care of my needs. In short, they were superior!"

South Jersey Hospital

"I didn't use this hospital. Surgery used to be done here, but is now performed at the South Jersey Hospital Regional Medical Center in Vineland."
