I talked with Christie briefly. She said her surgery lasted for 2 hours, and they unexpectedly had to remove her spleen. She said the worst part so far was the removal of the NG tube (ugh), and the muscle spasms caused from the muscles being stretched out with the retractors. Her husband, Joey Dean, is right there with her keeping her company.
She's a trooper, I'm sure she'll come through this first bit of pain okay - and she said the pain meds there were wonnnderful! :-)

5:39 pm - I've just heard from Christie's DH, Joey, and he said that she came through her surgery just fine. She'll be in ICU until tomorrow, as is customary with Dr. Seay's patients. CONGRATS Christie! You've made the transistion and you're on your way!

Christie.... Jumpin for joy!!! My date too. I think I am more nervous about my pre-op tests than the surgery itself! Keep happy, positive thoughts... I will look forward to watching your progress :)
