At two months post-op, I have lost 38 pounds and am feeling well. Energy is improving, and I have joined Curves for Women. The most unusual thing about my weight loss this time is that after initially starting in my face and upper body, it appears to be all over. On every other weight loss program it has started on top and at this point, would still be there. I'm so happy to have done this. I'm also being open with family, friends, and colleagues. I think that's an important piece. I don't want people to think I have some dread disease because of the rapid weight loss.

08/03/02: Home from the hospital today. Glad to be on this side. Thanks for the support of everyone on this site. So far so good. No nausea. Being very careful to measure those clear fluids (water and broth). Gotta respect the pouch! When my wonderful surgeon (Steven Simper) came out to the waiting room to talk with my husband, he said my case was "text book," that my gall bladder was fine, and that the lap procedure took 2 hours instead of the expected 3. My husband quipped that we'd paid for 3 hours. Fortunately Dr. Simper took it in good humor. Glad to be home, following the rules, and getting ready to go to work two weeks from Monday.
