"Dr.Aranow was my surgeon for a previous surgery. My impression of him then was certainly good. My impression of him changed with the gastric bypass. He was even more compassionate, kind and caring than he was with my previous surgery. His office staff is always professional and courteous. His personal assistant Lois is excellent. She would take my phone calls personally at any time and helped facilitate the insurance process. Future patients of Dr.Aranow should know that he was cited in Connecticut Magazine for being a "Doctor's Doctor". Furthermore they need to know that he is a genuinely nice person who happens to be an excellent surgeon. He actually cares about his patients. It is rather refreshing. There are aftercare appts. I believe my appts were every 2 weeks x 3. Then one 3 months later. I don't know what the schedule will be after that appt. Dr. Aranow wants to know right away if there are any problems at any point post-op. My Surgical consult lasted over one hour and was very informative. Dr.Aranow informed me of all the potential risks in a very direct fashion. He gave me statistics and possible scenarios for complications. He explained the post-op course both short term and long term. Overall I would rate Dr.Aranow as Wonderful. He is caring, compassionate, kind and has impressive surgical competence."
