PCOS or PCOD, polycystic ovarian syndrome/disease
A great resource to educate yourself about it is www.soulcysters.com
some women have abnormal ovaries, some don't.....the name can be misleading
it is more a problem in your endocrine system than the reproductive system
i was diagonsed with pcos the beginning of 2001, my biggest symptom is thinning hair, weight gain, infertility issues, and insulin resistance, which contributes to the weight gain, all of this has gradually lead to high blood pressure
my pcp seems to think that the surgery will help rid me of most if not all of the symptoms
if there are some things in your health that just can't be determined what the cause is, suggest a pcos check with your pcp, there is a ton of blood work that can be done
a diagnosis isn't going to lead to any quick cure for this either....i know.....my last medication almost killed me {glucophage was causing my lungs to fail} so i went off of it a year ago.....and had even more weight gain ~laughs~
hope the website helps you gain some knowledge about it
