Hi K, I heard and read about what is going on with you. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, but you have to try and keep ya head up. I will keep you in my prayers, but I want you to talk to your Dr and maybe also a therapist. Your doing great in your weight loss, but you have to get more protein and calories in. I wish the best for you, and I feel the same way about gaining the weight back, but we have to work hard at that and by not eating your only messing your health up, please seek help and try and take better care of yourself, it will be fine you will see, just have faith and think positive about this. All of us on OH are here for you and my family here in NY are here as well for you.

Hey Kristen, Just read you're post and my heart goes out to you. I think some of my friends from NY gave you very sound advice about seeking professional help. We are all here to support you, but I think this is beyond our capabilities. Someone should have told you that the hair loss can be part of the process and that it is only temporary. Of course, upping you're protein intake will help. I understand what yo meant when you talked about people telling you how thinyou are, I feel the same way. I was telling someone yesterday that I think now I understand how an anorexic person thinks - they just don't see that they are thin and think they are fat. Many of us have carried this excess weight around for so long that even though our bodies are shrinking our brains can't compute that. I'm not even going to talk about the smoking - you know that's not good for you and I did read somewhere that smoking can increase risks of getting ulcers - so please try to get that under control, too. Hang in there and know that they're are many of us out here that care.

Hey Kristin, I hope you get better soon and also go see your doctor soon and let him know how you are feeling. This is very important. You need to try and get more calories and protein in as well. Good luck and please keep us posted sweetie!!

Kristin, I am so sorry to hear that you are looking good but feeling not good. I think you are depressed. I'm no psychiatrist but know enough to know the difference between a depressive episode (which we ALL have) and clinical depression, which I suspect is what you have. Just like your obesity was nothing to be ashamed of and you went to a doctor to get help, your depression is nothing to be ashamed of and I suggest you return to whomever did your psych evaluation (if that was required for your surgery) and talk to him or her. If not, then get you a counselor, therapist, psychologist or someone who is licensed and qualified to help people who have had bariatric surgery. Our issues are very unique to the obese (or formerly obese) and it's important to speak to someone who is familiar with our types of problems. All the best to you and please take our advice and keep in touch.
