Carol, hope you are better very soon. More prayers going up for you!Love, SheilaCarol G. 20 years, 3 months ago
Thank you to all who rememebered me in prayer during my surgery. I came home Monday the 6th day after. The surgery had to be performed open as they ran into too much hard scar tissue. The tissue had also latched on to the arteries leading to the spleen, and they began to bleed, making it necessary to take out the spleen. The doctors say I am doing good, I am sore, and not able to be up for long yet. I am still on pain medication. I will update you more in a few days. I'm having problems with the protein drinks, and have to remind myself to drink them. Also with crushing meds. I know in a week I'll feel a lot better. Thanks again, CarolMelissa S. 20 years, 3 months ago

Best Wishes for a successful surgery and smooth recovery! Weigh to go! I just read another post from someone who just had surgery and the thing that hurts the most is their BACK. And it is PAINFUL, not just uncomfortable. THE LAST THING YOU NEED TO TELL YOUR SURGEON, BEFORE THEY PUT YOU UNDER, IS TO PUT SOMETHING UNDER YOUR KNEES TO TAKE THE PRESSURE OFF YOUR BACK!!! Time and time again folks are coming out of the O.R. and their back is killing them. It’s because you are lying flat on your back for hours on a hard surface. How long can you do that now? If the surgeon will just put a rolled up blanket under your knees this problem will be eliminated! Got It?... Good…. Problem solved. (Or at least talk it over with him/her).ReneeJune03 20 years, 3 months ago
Hi Carol, I'd say don't be nervous but what's the point? I was nervous too! I always say the week before surgery was worse than the week after (for me anyway). Man, those nerves will get to you. Just stay positive and keep ONLY positive people around you. Truly. The 13th of January is my 7 month anniversay! And I'm down 98 lbs. (maybe 100 by then) Anyway, it was a great decision for me and I'm sure it will be great for you too. The results of this surgery are nothing short of amazing (I'm still in shock). I hope all your weight-loss and good health dreams come true..... (P.S. I'm from CT but lived on the seacoast of NH for a few years and it's still my all-time favorite place to live. I'm in VA now.)
