My first impression of Dr. Schreiber was that he was very impersonable, but professional. I mostly dealt with the Dr.'s staff, who were wonderful! Very nice and helpful. They were more than willing to answer any question that I had or refer me to someone who could help me. I really didn't like that the doctor didn't seem very friendly, but I just thought, I am not here to make a friend, I am here for a surgery and I only heard wonderful things about his ability. He was actually Chief of Surgery at the hospital. He was more than qualified. I also realized he sees ALOT of patients each day and he just may have been having an off day. On the day of my surgery, he came in to speak with my husband and I and, although it was brief, he was friendly and reassuring. So, my second opinion was a good one. My surgery was flawless and I have had very little side effects. Overall, I believer he is extremely competent and did turn out to be somewhat friendly. But I would definately recommend him and his office. My experience overall was great. Their program is wonderful. There wasn't one side affect or possible complication that I wasn't totally aware of prior to my surgery. Fortunately for me, I had none. I had and Open Roux-n-y (or however you spell that :) and I was back to work 2 weeks later. If you are in the Cleveland area or are close enough to travel there for the surgery, I highly recommend going to Dr. Schrieber's Bariatric Clinic at the St. Vincent's Charity Hospital located downtown.
