Dear, dear Grace...Nope..You're NOT giving up. Girl, your body thinks it's gonna starve at 400-700 calories. Take about 4 more bites of protein, walk, walk, walk, and get your liquids in..Your matabolism has to be kept going for you to lose the fat...Your body is like a well oiled machne..it must have fuel to work properly..Believe me..You're not going to gain by upping your calories a little..Wait and SEE !!! Big Huggzzz You WILL reach your goal...: )

Gracie, I think you're doing awesome! Your expectations are just off! For someone your height and starting weight you are right on target. You have probably got about 100bls to lose and if you think about it you have lost one third of your excess weight. That is fabulous! Please take a look at my profile or someone else whose starting and ending weights are closer to your own, I think it will help a lot! Congrats and keep up the great work!

I am about a week behind you with my surgery. I had lost 39 pounds and then gained a few back. It is VERY NORMAL to plateau in the first or second month. Your body is going into starvation mode and storing everything. You may also be experiencing some water retention because of it. I would highly suggest doing some measurements. Even if you didn't do them before surgery, I would suggest doing them still now. Even though the weight is not coming off with me, the inces still are! That gives me hope that this is not a flop. Talk to you doctor and he might be able to give you some suggestions. You are not going to be a failure at this if you are doing everything right! Keep your chin up and know we are all here for you. Whoever says we take the easy way out is on something, because it is not easy. Take it one day at a time and sometimes you just have to wait it out. Congratulations on your weight loss so far!

Grace.. Thanks so much for your frank, honest post. This surgery IS major trauma on the body and along with the emotions and many physical changes it IS very scary. Not everyone will sail thru so easily but by taking a day at a time, it does get better... Best wishes to everyone...
