"I thought the nurses and nurses assistants were heinous. I had 2 nurses that were pleasant and helpful and that was it. All the other nurses/assistants were horrid and mean and NOT helpful at all! I found them to be rude and gossipy and non-compassionate. I realize that nurses are over-workd and their job load is more then they can handle at time...I am a very patient person and understand that...HOWEVER, no matter how overworked, you can still be kind and caring...it is part of their job after all. I won't get into it all, but all I can say, is thank god my husband was there! I did however have a wonderful experience with the lady that did my leak test and the pre-administration testing people. I am VERY dissappointed in St. Mary's hospital in Waterbury, CT. I will not ever be using them again. I have an appt. with my surgeon on Friday and will tell him how discouraged I was with their service. "
"What can I say about Diana Rosa...she was Superb!!! Nice woman, who seemed genuinely concerned about what I was going through and quite knowledgeble about the surgery and aftercare that I would be going through. She was EXTREMELY helpful!"
"My first impression of Dr. Macatol was that..."wow, he is really small...he must need a step ladder to get around all of our large bodies!!!" He was wonderful! VERY informative and seemed quite passionate about what he does. My first visit with him was prompt and thorough. He made sure that I knew exactly what the surgery entailed and the risks of surgery. He was very happy to answer any of the MANY questions I had.
Dr. Macatol is HUGE on support groups; before, during and after this journey. He also recommended this site for further information. Dr. Macatol is VERY strict about aftercare. You must attend support groups {which are monthly} and see him every 6 months, well...forever! In that small man is tremendous heart who has already saved many lives!
His right hand woman, Joyce...has been wonderful as well. At times she definately seems overloaded, but she pulls through. I did not have to deal with my insurance company at all, Joyce did all that.
I would rate Dr. Macatol and Joyce, overall about a 9 out of 10! They make a wonderful team"
