Pete, I never knew you personally but you were and stil is an inspiration to me. You will be with us in spirit and may God continue to bless all of Pete's family and friends. He was an awesome individual.

So sorry to hear of Pete's passing..I will never forget him taking time to chat with me prior to my surgery--the encouragement from him was amazing! May God bless ya bigpete..and your family..you truly were and are an angel..love ya!

Wow, what an amazing journey Big Pete lived. I think it is wonderful that he was able to accomplish so many of his goals in the time he had left. And what a beautiful soul Linda Almonte is for helping him achieve so many of his final wishes. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for her, as close as she got to him, knowing she'd be losing him. I know that losing Pete is a hard hit for the members of this site, but somehow I believe he'll be watching out for all of us more than ever now! It's like he's gotten a promotion :) God bless you Pete, and you too Linda!

Big Pete is truly in "the arms of the angels" now. What a marvelous person he was. I remember after my surgery, his visit to me in the hospital and his walking me around the nurses station. He was a natural motivator and simply a dear, sweet man. He will be sorely missed by many people. God speed Pete!

I think BIG PETE,rather I know , he would be exremely proud and honored to read all the messages that I have just finished reading about my friend and mentor.. Pete stood by me through my 2 1/2 months of surgery problems and even found time to follow me around the Re-Hab Hospital that I was sent to.. He convinced me to do pool aerobics with him and I have done so for the past 1 1/2 years. I swam with Pete Wednesday Night and after class we hung around in the pool and shot the bull (he loved to do that). To all who knew him but never met him he was just as many of you posted in your messages,full of life and thankful for what he had for the last 4 years,, Rest easy my friend I will miss you but I WILL not fail you in our joint cause to better ourselves.. I got to speak very briefly with Pete at the first WLS meeting I went to in CT. It was shocking for me to learn that he has passed away. I am SO happy for him that he got to REALLY live these last couple of years and enjoy life!!! Good Going Pete! In this life you have done a lot of us proud and I know you will do a lot of people proud in the next one. We'll Miss You!

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Pete. I came across his website a few months back before I had surgery, then saw him on Oprah. He was such an inspiration. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family. May you find peace in knowing that he touched so many lives.
