Tom, You will feel ALOT better after you get those staples out!!! I had alot of diarrhea and general gastric upset for about the first 3 weeks, and then it all settled down. I didn't have a binder, kind of wish I would have had one because I had the most pain in my back from my stomach hanging and being no longer able to "suck in my gut" hahaha!! Surgery was almost 6 months ago, and I feel better than ever. You will start noticing improvement everyday now, it's such a big hurdle getting those staples out and moving onward =) Best wishes!

Hi, Tom: Welcome to the losing side! Hope everything went well for you. Don't feel like you have given up Lee's Chicken. I had mine done 1 Sep 00 and I can eat anything. Although I have not had Lee's Chicken, I have had KFC. You may be able to still eat a leg or a wing. It's amazing that will fill you up! Best of luck! Pat

Thanks to all who have written. I'm convinced that it takes someone in the same boat to really understand what we are going through. My thin friends don't really understand it. I have a CCK/HIDA scan, GB sonogram and pulmonary function test coming up on Tuesday 9/11. I am assuming that all is a go on 9/27 if these tests turn out all right and and the pulmoanry doc signs off on the medical clearance. At times I think about just how good that Lee's chicken tastes, but then I think about being able to sit in a stadium or arena seat comfortably, walking without being winded and looking a little better when important people are listening to what I have to say and then I think that this surgery is a no brainer. This will help my BP and swelling in the feet, and with a little dietary planning, it should help me to live a longer and more productive life. There will be changes, some that I won't like at first, but life will improve along with my health. May God bless everyone going through this wls journey and be with you as you change your life around. And please, don't forget to thank him for it along the way. I know I thank him for the people I have been on contact with on this website because I believe that he has been working through each of you in some way.
