"I really liked Dr. Smith. He seemed to be very real and honest with me. He answered my questions and was very kind. I have not seen him since my first visit and will be back in to see him probably the week of my surgery (June 15) The office and staff have been supportive through my insurance struggles. I am looking forward to my orientation in a week or so and hopefully will find out more about my follow up care and what and when to eat and all those questions. I did discuss the risks of surgery with Dr. Smith and he was very upfront with me. He stated that he was not in the business of having people die however it did happen occassionally. He really took the time to explain open vs. lap. and I have chosen to go lap. even though he is still quite new at doing the surgery lap. I will see how the surgery goes and how the follow up care is in a week or so. I hear that his bedside manner is not the total best but that he his surgically competent which to me is of far greater importance than the bedside manner. It would however be nice to have a combination of both. "
