Adam Naaman

"Well, this is my 2nd go-round with Dr. Ferrari and surgery. My first experience was in Dec'98 when he did my open VGB. That was a very good experience. The office staff were always wonderful. Dr. Ferrari was informative and seemed to have good patient relations. At this point, I have decided to see about getting a revision to RNY because I feel that my VBG has failed in someway. I am scheduled for 1/30/02 for my upper GI and then will sched for Dr. Ferrari to see what my pouch is up to these days. I am excited to see what condition my pouch is in now. Over the last 3 yrs since my surgery, I have not been back after the initial post op visits. I have had problems with vomiting after eating since the first VBG and planted in my mind that this was just a side effect of my surgery and I was just going to have to deal with it. I never called or saw the Dr. about the vomiting. I just switched to eating things that didnt make me sick like JUNK FOOD (carbs, sweets, etc). It finally hit me that my teeth were becoming damaged from the vomiting and my esophagus(?)was in danger from all the acid that comes up. I started going to a bariatric support group formed last year that met close to my home. Even though most that attend have had RNY, I have found it very informative and no see that I need to get mine revised. So, here I go again! Back to the start of the whole process! Once I made the call to Dr. Ferrari's office I was made to feel that I had not "failed" with the VBG. Everyone has been very supportive and taken the time to listen to me and my frustrations! ***UPDATE 10/2/02*** After feeling uncomfortable with the facilities Dr. Ferrari performs his surgerys at, I have decided to change Doctors. Dr. Adam Naaman will be doing my revision from VBG to RNY. I met with him and felt comfortable with his credentials and experience with revisions. Also the fact that he works out of a highly respected hospital. I have talked with and read posts of others that have/will be using Dr. Naaman and feel very comfortable with him as my new surgeon. My Cigna insurance has already been approved and I'm scheduled for Nov 20. Dr. Naaman was both easy to talk to and answered all my questions without me feeling like I was taking up too much of his time. He was very knowledgeable about the revision surgery and has preformed many. He also mentioned the he was Dr. Ferrari's mentor with the revisions. That made me feel alot better. I go back to see him in a few days for my pre-op and have written down more questions. I was very comfortable with him and his office staff. "
