"Update: Met with Dr. Roll on Tuesday, 12/5 for my pre-op physical. He was very reassuring and comforting. Also, the office staff are great and so compassionate. Dr. Roll made sure I knew about the after-care program, and that this surgery is just a tool and that I have to make a commitment to lose the weight. My husband and I met with Dr. Roll and his staff, including Sallie, the dietician and we were very impressed with his presentation of the procedure. He took his time to ask a few questions, then he spoke for several minutes about the risks and complications. He also showed us a diagram of the digestive system and how the surgery works. We were both very comfortable with him and my husband feels much better about me having the surgery after talking to Dr. Roll. The staff is wonderful. The thing I liked least was that Dr. Roll spoke about the surgery in a way that made me feel as if he had a script and was it was rehersed (I guess from the number of times he has done it). We did have to wait in the office a long time to get in to see him and we almost felt a little rushed at the end of his talk. Overall I would rate him and the office very highly. Surgical competence is definitely more important but fortunately, in my opinion, Dr. Roll has a good bedside manner as well. I will post follow-ups as I go through the procedure."
