And I am getting ready to return to work next week. Also am going to now begin exercising other than walking. Feel ready to tackle more than just walking. As of last week my weight is down 40 pounds and for this I am very thankful!!! For anyone thinking about this surgery please do it once the post op time is past it does get better and this is the best part, now I am entering the best part! God bless you all, hugs Sandy

Well I am doing better, and loving my weight coming off! And as of today I am 36 pounds lighter than before surgery. I continue to have the most pain from the hernia repair, but wtih this in mind I am greatly reducing the amount of pain medicine I need to take. And I am increasing my activity. I am now able to walk 8-10 blockes before I get too tired to continue! And this is progress! Before surguer if I walked 3 blockes I was done for! So when asked if I would do this again even in light of the hernia repair my answer would be yes, yes, yes!! I thank God for the chance to have this surgery and a job to allow me the time off to get healed from the surgery! To anyone who is reading this update, please don't let anything stand in your way. If you have to be on clear liquids only like I did for 4 weeks {2 weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery}, even that is worth it! And as I melt to a smaller person and the pain reduces I am sure that I will never get to the point that I wished to go back to the person I used to be. God bless you all and good luck

I am doing well. I came home on sunday was in hospital only 4 days. Had abdominal hernia repair also so I have pain but it is getting better. I came home from the hospital NOT on any blood pressure medicines at all, I am so excited about this, since having been taking medicine for over 4 year now for blood pressure. I walk in my house and try not to spend too much time in the day sleeping so I can sleep at night. I will see dr. Glascock in the morning 03-05-03. And the drain will come out then. Looking forward to that.

I visited Sandy in the hospital and she is doing fine. Her surgery lasted 5 hours because they also repaired a hernia. This morning, I talked with Sandy on the phone and she is very sore. She is very upbeat and said last night she would do it all again in a minute. She will probably be in the hospital until Monday because of the hernia repair. I will post again tomorrow. Best wishes for a speedy recovery and an uneventful surgery. I got that backwards but you get my meaning...I am thinking of you, as my surgery is on the same day. :)
