North Shore University Hospital - Manhasset (COE)

"Although this hospital has received a #1 rating in the country, in my opinion, it has a long way to go before it earns that rating. I was only 1 of many patients during my stay who were dissatisfied with the level of care after our surgeries. The surgical staff was wonderful and quite professional as well as compassionate. I hope I never have to stay in this hospital again."

Christopher Matkovic

"Although Dr. Matkovic doesn't have extensive knowledge of WLS, he and his staff seemed quite interested in the type of procedure and lifestyle changes I will have to make after surgery. He has always tried to give support in dealing with the weight issues. He has been my PCP for 13yrs. and has always provided excellent care and I have always been happy with the specialists he refers."

Emily Marcus

"Emily was very easy to talk to and quite understanding and supportive of the whole MO issue. She is willing to lend support in any way she can and encourages you to call or e-mail her with questions or concerns."

Deborah Cosgrove

"Not only was this therapist compassionate and easy to talk to, she was very understanding of my feelings and what I have gone through and what I am going through now. You see, she also had WLS! She was able to give me insight as to what I should expect to happen and gave me tips on how to handle dealing with my new way of eating after surgery. She even gave me information on another subject unrelated to WLS which I thought was above and beyond what I was paying her for. The fact that she had the surgery made it so much easier to relate to her. I was very satisfied with the discussion we had and feel relief that there is someone I can see on a professional basis if I need the emotional and psychological help after surgery."
