i talked to blase last night and hopefully he will be doing well enough to come home today. his fever broke and he wasn't as nauseated. his blood pressure was high and they had some concerns about this. hopefully he will be doing good enough to be released. he is looking forward to coming home. one of our sisters has offered to come home from FL. to help take care of him for the summer. i think this is great. i take care of our mother and that does'nt leave me much time to help. anyway i will keep posting until he can get home and read all these wonderful support messages.

just wanted to to update everyone. i talked to Blase last night and he's not feeling so good. he is running a fever and is very nauseated. he couldn't talk long. i don't know if they will let him come home today or not. i will call this morning to see how he is doing. will keep you posted. thanks

I went to the hospital to see Blase today and he looked great. His daughter was there and he had his sense of humor turned on... smiling and chatting like nothing ever happened. THANK GOODNESS BECAUSE MY SURGERY IS THURSDAY WITH THE SAME DOCTOR AND WOULD HAVE FREAKED IF HE WAS NOT DOING OK. Let me tell you he is more than ok. In addition to the Sapala-Wood micropouch surgery Blase had greenfield filter inserted into the vena cava during the WL surgery and had a hernia repair. Dr Sapala is the best and thanks to his skill Blase is doing great. Blase loves the Detroit Red Wings so I offered to treat him to lunch at the Hockey Town Cafe but he turned me down, can't figure out why? He says he will visit me after my surgery ON tHURSDAY if he is still in the hospital. OUR AMOS FAMILY IS THE BEST!

Blase ~ YEAH! You did it!! I'm sooooo happy you made it safely to the other side. Hope the pain becomes more manageable for you soon. I will be having my surgery with Dr. Wood this thursday...May 16th ~ so I'll be right behind you!! God's Blessings to you throughout your journey!!!

i just got off the phone with Blase and he is doing great. he said he is in a lot of pain but he's at least he's here. he walked down the hall but without portable oxygen he wasn't able to go far. his spirits are good and is expected to come home by thursday. i told him i posted here for him and he was happy. thanks to all of you:)
