Linda, Call your ins. co and find out the name of the person handling your acct. Talk to him/her about what this surgeon is doing, they should know.Perhaps they can get you another surgeon. Also under "find peers" click on your state and read profiles of people in your state to see which dr they used. Your dr doesn't have many people posting comments on him. Linda, not only is it not normal to force patients to join a gym at a cost of $5K, but I would think its also illegal! I'd find a new doc or threaten to sue him! Best wishes to you!
