"Dr. Novak is one of the nicest Doctors I have ever been to, he is caring and upfront about everything. He prior to the open by-pass, did 3 EGD's and cleared up ulcers, and removed my gall bladder. His office staff is knowledgable and helpful. The only problem I had was getting approval from UPMC insurance and them demanding I have my surgery at Somerset Hospital. The Somerset Hospital was terrible, dirty, the staff was not knowledgable about the surgery, they would talk behind the Dr's back and mine as well. I have sent a letter of complaint but as of today I have heard nothing from them. So if you are considering a hospital do not go to Somerset Hospital.Dr, Novak did not want to do the surgery there but my insurance demanded it. Dr. Novak is clear about the risks after surgery. He does offer a support group every month. He is sometimes a little rushed so it is best to have your questions written down when you go to see him. Both my husband and I think he is a wonderful Doctor."
