well susan i am also from navarre ohio and had wls done by a doctor in massillon which was great .and ive lost 40 pds so far and still have another 50 to go ,but i wish you luck and would love to sure info with you also good luck laura [email protected]

Susan, I'm wishing you a safe, complication free surgery and a quick, smooth recovery. I had my Open RNY on 12/10/01 and have absolutely NO regrets other than not having had done it several years ago. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I could have done for myself. God bless you as you start your new, healthier life.

Hi, Susan. I, too, suffered from depleted self esteem when I gained a ton of weight up to 300 pounds, well, that's as far as the scale would go, could have been more. I had lost 28 pounds before surgery, but it took a gruelling 5 months. I weighed 272 on 10-8-01 when I had lap rny. Today, I weigh 197. I have lost an additional 75 pounds these past 5 months, and I feel wonderful! Just finished a 45 minute power walk, something I would never have done prior to surgery.
