I'm one of those lurkers who reads the message board but almost never posts, so here I am...10 weeks out...I've lost 50 pounds. It seems like I'm going slower than most people, but that's ok, I've never lost 50 pounds at one shot and stood a chance of keeping it off. I still have a problem with eating, I end up throwing up one meal or another 3-4 times a week. I wish I could find a cure for that, so if anyone has any advice, I'll take it. Even with the minor problems, I'd have the surgery again in a heartbeat. I fell down a flight of stairs three weeks ago and messed up my neck and back, which means exercising was out of the question. I think I'm going to have to work up to my two miles a day again. Once I exercise regularly, maybe the weight will come off a little faster. For all of you waiting for your surgery, I think that is the hardest part. Every take care and I'll update again soon.

HI EVERYONE!!! Here I am...Three weeks after surgery and down an amazing 30 pounds already. I go back to work on Monday!!! Let me tell you, three weeks of daytime television with no online access BITES! I am ready to go back to work. My surgery was on 12/26...no complications, they actually let me go home a day early. New Years Eve I spiked a temperature and they re-admitted me to the hospital for three days. My New Year's celebration was spent in a CT scanner. They never found out what was the cause of the infection, but as long as the white count was high, I was stuck in the hospital. I came back home to find problems with the phone and had no access to online...talk about your stress. I am now on solid foods, ok semi-mushy foods. Everything seems to go down well, I don't dump on ANYTHING, which could be a blessing or a curse. Fortunately, I was never a big sweet eater, so I may not end up sabotaging myself. Thanks to everyone who posted on my page and MANY MANY thanks to LISA HALL for her calls of support while I was recuperating. Becky Marquez

All the waiting is through, the months of wondering if this is all going to happen is over. I'm on my way out the door and into my new life. The support and caring of this group goes a long way to making this easier. I know when I return from teh hospital, I will have a place to come to with questions, frustrations, hopes and I can share my dreams and that everyone here understands. MOMMA ANGEL - I read this message board every day and I just want to thank you for the time and effort you put into making everyone feel special, and taking the time to see that everyone has that little bit of encouragement that they need. APRIL KATS and everyone else who shares my re-birth date - Our journey starts today. My prayers for a swift surgery, no complications and a fast recovery go out to all of you.
