Memory - for example - one time he told me I had to be on liquid diet for another month but it was already time for me to advance. I had to remind him and then he got a little confused.

There's a monthly support group and f/up visits w/him. You can arrange f/up w/nutritionist but she's available at support groups anyway.
Surgical competence is better. Notes - I'm a nurse and I have known very few surgeons w/good bedside manners. "
