Alan H. Brader

"I met with Dr. Brader in February. Very respectful, informative, and had a great spirit about him. I felt comfortable with him and appreciated his explanation of the surgery. Unfortunately, I've had a fairly negative experience with his office staff. My file has not been handled correctly. I gave them my medical clearances because they told me to, but then they never sent them to the insurance coordinator. I waited three weeks then called back. I was told my file had been faxed to BCBS but BCBS said it was not received. Then it was faxed again, but without my cardio, pulminary, or psyc eval. I never recieved a letter stating I even needed a psyc eval. Then I got a denial letter from BCBS BECAUSE they required these three things....ugh!! I called Angela in Dr. Brader's office and she was not helpful or sympathetic in the least. It was very frustrating. I waited ten weeks to find out that I was not approved because Barix didn't send in the correct paperwork nor did they tell me I needed a psyc eval. I was very lucky and got in for a psyc eval tomorrow morning. Once that is done it must be faxed to my insurance coordinator at Barix. She will fax the psyc eval, along with my cardio and pulminary clearances, to BCBS for review. I just can't tell you how frustrating this has all been. When you're a nice person, it's really difficult to be assertive enough to get things done. I can't have this surgery during the school year. I need to have this done during the summer. I set everything up so that it was possible, and now I've got no guarantee that this will even happen this summer. I've been told a spot has been reserved for July 29th. We shall see if it happens. I'll be devastated if I have to wait until next summer."
