Lamar L. Snow (COE)

"This is my experience with Dr. Snow and his staff I will walk you through their program. First visit is a group meeting disussing the benefits, risks and surgical procedure(laproscopic and open). After the group session you will meet one on one with Dr. Snow to discuss your previous medical history and any concerns you have that were not addressed during the group. You will also meet with the financial specialist who will direct you on how to get the necessary medical records, how much your out of pocket expense will be. Once you receive your approval letter from the insurance company, you can either wait for them to call you or you can call them. Your second visit they schedule you for your surgery; order the pre-op tests and you attend the BEGIN class. During the BEGIN class they perform a light physical activity tolerance test. The dietician discusses your diet after the surgery and you meet with a nurse to go over your medical history again. You must complete this class before Dr. Snow will perform surgery. The next time you see the Dr. is right before they knock you out. During your stay in the hospital you may see him or one of the other surgeons in that same practice. (Surgical Association of Mobile). Expect to stay 3-4 days in the hospital if you have no complications. Then you go for a follow up visit 1 week post surgery ( more or less he only sees GB patients on Monday). Then you follow up as he orders. In my opinion he is the best Dr. in this area to perform GBS. He doesn't get on to you unless you deserve it ie you don't modify your life style after surgery. His staff is always polite and the telephone nurse will answer any questions you have and promptly returns your calls."
