"I haven't met the Doctor yet, but I did talk to his insurance clerk, Darrell. He is just as helpful as everyone has said! I'll update this after my consult appointment!
Update! 1/26/01
I met with Dr. Pearce yesterday! He is so warm and understanding! He spent about an hour and a half with me, explaining many things to me! He says he's done over 2,000 WLS!! WOW! He even mentioned one death, a young woman about 20 yrs ago, that died because of contracting hepatitis (sp?) from a blood transfusion! Otherwise, there have been no other deaths associated with his surgeries! That makes me feel really good! I was very comfortable with Dr. Pearce and he was very willing to listen to all my questions and comments! I'd recommend him very highly!

4-22-01 I'm staying with Dr. Pearce!! I had thought about changing to Dr. Gorospe, but since I have been approved with Dr. P, I plan on just staying with him. One thing I have to say is, I wish Dr. P transects the stomach. I am going to ask him to do mine, but I doubt he will. He told me at my consult he doesn't feel it is necessary. Oh well!!! "
