"WOW. I have had 2 other consults with other surgeons. Dr. Buchwald is the BEST!
At first as a group people met with the Dietition, and then you meet the Dr (also as a group), then you get to talk with the Dr. in private to talk about any questions, and to tell him what surgery you wanted.
The Dr. talked about all the risks, about why obesity is a problem, and what life is like after sugery.
We also met 2 people that had use the Dr. for surgery.
Over all I think He's the BEST choice!
OK.. Well My sugery is over.
I still think that Dr. B. is TERRIFIC! He came into see me the day of surgery, asked if I had any questions, and said everything was going to go just fine. I was then prepped for surgery. I was able to see Dr. B. every day I was in the hospital he would come check on me, ask how I was doing, and make sure that I was ok. The best part about this was that he actually cared when he came in the room with a SMILE on his face, sometimes making some sort of joke.
The hosiptal Staff were great!! I had surgery on a Monday, and was out all day. I know I had someone in my room almost all night becuase of my sleep Apena, one Tue. I had someone checking on me every half hour. I never needed anything they always knew what I would need adn just brought it for me. They were great with helping me get out of bed the first couple of times. As each day passed they would encourage me to be a little more dependent, but were always totally willing to help out.
Dr. B. was great during my check up (2.5 weeks after surgery) I sw him for about 10 min. and then he asked me to talk to the new people coming to find out about surgery.
