Well I'm now a little over three weeks post-op, and things are starting to settle down a little.... I've had a rough time thus far.... Everything went fairly well for the first 2 weeks... Then, I started vomiting, and having severe abdominal, and back pain... Needless to say I ended up being rushed into the ER... The pain was unbearable... After x-rays, and a CAT scan, it was determined that the remnant portion of my stomach (the part that does not recieve food) was blocked, and was not draining properly... I ended up having a drainage catheter inserted into my stomach remnant to drain the contents... (ouchie) I did feel immediately better than I had been, but still not 100%. The drainage tube was pretty uncomfortable for the first several days... I ended up staying in the hospital for 6 days for this complication... I was unable to eat a thing for 8 days total... So needless to say I feel pretty crappy right now... I still have the drain in my stomach and the DR. says it will need to be there for another 4 to 6 weeks... And I just pray that the drain will resolve this whole thing, I am not looking forward to possibly ending back up in the operating room.... I'll update more when I feel better.. Hugs!! Crissy P.S. One good thing so far, I have lost about 30 lbs. so far!! Yipeee!!

Good luck on your healing. Hope everything went okay, and you continue to heal up really good. Don't forget to keep up the walking, it's so good for you. God bless, and take care.

My very best wishes to you for a safe and successful surgery and recovery. May all of your sweetest dreams come true. My husband and I both had open rny's in 2001 and have lost a combined total of 325 lbs!! YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!!
