Well I've made it to day 4 of the Pro-Op diet of protien drinks. Ive been using the HMR chocolate shakes which are the same ones Ive used before for major weight loss. It's not bad, I'm not hungry, just bored I think. My husbnd Peter is also drinking the HMR shakes for these two weeks - so supportive, I am so lucky to have such a good hubby. We have both been trying to do the Atkins diet these last couple of months. For my "last meal" i had about 1/3 of a great salad at my favorite restaurant with 1 slice of garlic bread and an apple martini with a shared piece of carrot cake for desert. I've been meeting so many great people from OB Help. Deb and I have gone to the beaach twice and we are going horseback riding Saturday! I'm so excited, will be my first ride since hurting my knee in April. All is going pretty well at home with the hurricanes. My Dad and I went back a couple weeks ago to elp with the cleanup - GOD its hot there. With no electricity, my house/horse sitter tells me that the horses are just sweating in their stalls because she cannot turn on thier fans. But elec was restored late last night after almost a week. I did attend a support group meeting at Huntington Beach Hospital last week with Deb. It was geared towards the GB patient, but still interesting. One woman there spoke of getting the help of a weight loss therapist that really helped her. I'm looking into that - any help is good. till next time .... (My new favorite saying): Pull Up your BIG GIRL panties and DEAL with it!

Hi Anita! Congratulations on your surgery date! This scripture has meant so much to me on my WLS journey. Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Anita, congratulations for choosing what I consider to be an excellent wls program and superb surgeon -- and for landing an excellent angel to support you through your surgery! As to your questions...it's best, I believe, to get your information from the most reliable and experienced source: your surgeon! In my own experience with this program, all of the questions and concerns I've had have been answered, in as much detail as I request. I'm sure you'll benefit from the same quality support.

United Healthcare approved my Lap band Surgery! They also approved my Dr. as In Network.
