"9/24/00 - I just wanted to mention this. The day of surgery, Dr. Jay came in the holding area where the anesthesiologist was hooking me up. My mother was with me and when I saw Dr. Jay, i lit up. HE was so pleasant, introduced himself to my mother and reassured her that everything was going to be fine and afterwards he would come out and talk to her, to let her know how I was doing. Seeing him right before surgery made me feel at ease (he was early and they started surgery 1/2 hour earlier!). He did go to the waiting room to talk to my mother and he told her everything was a success (OBVIOUSLY!!). My mom really liked him. He seems to really care.
8/8/00 - Paula in Dr. Jay's office called me today to tell me that I am approved for surgery and we picked 9/18/00. She was so happy for me!
6/22/00 - Well, I found out about Dr. J through this website as well as NeWeigh in Houston. The staff is very nice and I even mentioned to them that they were complimented very well on this website by former and current patients. First Impression of Dr. J, is that he was very nice and sincere. He gave me the basic run-through and answered all my questions; I had a lot of them! He seemed to welcome them. I told him that Gastric bypass (RNY) is the surgery I desired because of the success rate and the fact that this is perfect for people who crave sweets all the time. He seemed impressed that I had done my homework on this surgery. As of now, he seems great, we just have to wait on insurance approval.
