J. Christopher Eagon

"Really spent very little time with him, but felt very comfortable. He's personable, thin and tall, but completely compassionate and understanding of the struggle to lose weight and the seriousness of the decision to have surgical intervention. His office staff is warm and welcoming, easy to work with, and was tolerant of my multiple calls on the status of filing with my insurance, etc. Dr. Eagon first has his patients go through an evaluation at the Weight Control Clinic there at Barnes Hospital. I saw a dietician, a shrink, a physical therapist, and spoke with his head nurse for lengthy periods before I met him. Aftercare is several visits, with 3 month checkups through the first year, and 6 the second, then yearly after. He was very up front about the risks and especially about the differences in risk with laproscopic procedures. He has not had a leak or a death in the time he has practiced. He is highly respected as a laproscopic surgeon, and it takes FOREVER to get in to him, but surgeons have told me it is far worth it. I have not had any negative aspects really. It did take over a month from the evaluation before the request was sent to insurance, which was frustrating, but that was over the Christmas and New Year's holidays, so some delay is to be expected."

"I found Dr. Eagon very personable and concerned with educating as to the risks as much, if not more, than the benefits. I was very comfortable with him."

"Dr. D has been my PCP for years. He is caring and compassionate. He however is not Pro WLS - some patients with severe complications, one at present that may not make it. He agreed that I am one of very few people he would refer to a surgeon, due to the number of diet plans I have tried, and mobidities in the close family."
